Motivations: ISO/IEC 23090-19 Reference Software for V-PCC extends ISO/IEC 23090-5 and uses many syntax structures and processes from ISO/IEC 23090-5. It was found that the 1st edition of 23090-19 did not enable to generate all the V3C bitstreams that could be defined according to 23090-05.
Objectives: Consequently, to improve the coverage of 23090-19, a second edition to correct this has been requested for ISO/IEC 23090-19. The solution is implemented by redesigning the V3C bitstream organization in such a way that it would be compatible with the 1st edition of ISO/IEC 23090-5.
